The 9th Asia-Pacific Conference on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights will take place between 27 - 30 November in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. Its theme will be Leave NO ONE Behind: Justice in Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Taking forward the tradition established at the first APCSRHR in Manila in 2001, the meeting will bring together civil society organisations, young people, academia, government, the media, the private sector, and development partners to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Scientia Professor Peter Aggleton, who is a member of the conference International Scientific and Program Committee, recently attended an advance planning meeting in Vietnam. "Already well over 800 abstracts have been received," he reports.
The newly opened Quang Ninh Planning and Expo Center in Ha Long has been chosen as the conference site.
Key themes to be explore in the meeting will include ‘Making good quality sexual and reproductive health education available to all’ and ‘Advancing justice and equity in sexual and reproductive health and health care’. The UNSW Practical Justice Initiative will be supporting a youth focused satellite session with a focus on gender and sexual diversity.
